Matthew knew he was destined to be in the culinary industry from a young age. He grew up with a family who loved cooking fresh meals and having BBQ’s & Brews on Sundays. He started as dishwasher at a small mom & pop shop near his house where he also learned how to properly prepare and cook food. He took these skills to other restaurants as he worked as a line cook trying to grow and master his skills. And, in 2008, Matthew became a line cook at Iron Hill. He worked hard and quickly moved up the ranks; within a year Matthew was promoted several times before settling in to his current role as Executive Chef. Working with fresh ingredients is his favorite part of heading the kitchen for Iron Hill where every menu item is made from scratch every day. He also loves the flexibility to create his own weekly Chef's Table menu using fresh, local ingredients.
Matthew enjoys preparing anything smoked, especially a smoked beef brisket. When he isn’t cooking delicious meals for our guests you can find him around town in Lancaster spending quality time with his wife and three wonderful kids.
