James is a 15+ year transplant to the south and has a deep appreciation for the roots of southern cooking. He attended culinary school at CPCC in Charlotte and trained under some of the best chefs in Charleston, including Rich Demarse, where he gained a love of low country cooking. He appeared as a guest on Road Trip with G. Garvin due to his experience in southern cuisine.
Chef James has been at Iron Hill Brewery in Greenville since 2018, is excited for the future and being able to highlight his southern food style to our weekly Chef’s Table.
Chef’s favorite dish to cook is Scallops with Hoppin Jon. When not at work he likes to spend time with his wife Cherri, their 2 dogs Kane and Loki, and traveling the back roads finding little diners and antique shops. Chef James loves to fish, collects antique cookbooks and is an avid racing fan.
