What’s the difference between a stout and a porter, how are they made and—most importantly—why should you drink them?
For those who don’t consider themselves dark beer lovers, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant’s Mark Edelson, Director of Brewery Operations, is out to show you why you should give these malty, rich beers a try.
In a recent article for County Lines Magazine, Mark broke down the “controversy” about what makes a porter different than a stout, shared a bit of history about dark beers in Europe and Ireland, offered up some suggestions of foods that make perfect pairings and recommended a few for you to try—including, of course, our own award-winning Russian Imperial Stout.
