As the temperatures drop, we’re heating things up here at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant with a post-Turkey Day lineup to kick off your December. These are the events you just can’t miss over the course of five fabulous days, December 2–6:
The party starts at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, at our annual release of St. James Brown Ale. Medium-bodied and deep brown in color, this classic English-style brown ale (5.2% ABV) has a slight roasty, nutty malt flavor and aroma and a well-balanced bitterness in the finish. Additionally, it comes with a blessing—proceeds from the beer benefit the good works of St. James Episcopal Church on North Duke Street. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: complimentary miniature caramel popcorn ice cream sundae.
Thursday, December 4, Chestnut Hill is the place to be from 5–8 p.m. for the release of our most popular spiced beer, Winter Warmer. Served with a special Penzeys Spices sugar rim, this beer will warm you up from the inside out. Come early: While supplies last, our 2013 Bourbon Winter Warmer will also be on tap. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: complimentary spiced apple tartlet.
This is one Friday night party you need to attend. From 5–9 p.m., join us at Iron Hill West Chester for the release of Scrooge IPA and Winter Warmer. Swag alert! We’ll have limited edition Santa beard glasses for the first 50 customers who order either of these seasonal favorites. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: complimentary holiday cookie.
Cookies or beer? No need to choose. Come to Iron Hill Maple Shade from 6–9 p.m. for the release of Om Nom Nom, our version of an oatmeal cookie in a glass, brewed with oats, cinnamon, whole vanilla beans and five pounds per barrel of pureed raisins. We’re not the only ones who love it—this 6.5% ABV beer was named the winner of the 2012 Iron Brewer competition! King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: complimentary house-made oatmeal cookies.
Welcome the jolly old elf himself to town during the Phoenixville Christmas Parade. Bundle up for patio seating to watch the parade, with free cookies and a visit from Santa for the kids. Grown-ups can enjoy the release of our English-style Milk Stout. We’ll have plenty of holiday cheer on tap from 5–7 p.m. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: complimentary house-made cookies.
No bah-humbugging is allowed at the release of our Scrooge IPA at Iron Hill Wilmington from 6–8 p.m. (And anyway, it’s impossible to be grouchy when sipping on this American-style IPA with full malt flavor.) Curious about the origins of the beer’s moniker? Scrooge is dry hopped with one pound of hops per barrel, resulting in a pronounced flavor and a bitterness that matches the beer’s namesake. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: complimentary house-made spicy popcorn.
Bad Santa Brown Ale will be hitting the taps at Iron Hill Newark on December 5, so don your ugliest sweater and head to the party from 4–8 p.m. The best “worst” sweater will win a Gap gift card! One more chance to take home a prize: The first 50 guests to drop off a new, unwrapped toy for Ronald McDonald House Charities will receive a treat-filled Iron Hill pint glass. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: hourly raffles of Christmas Ales.
Say goodbye to the work week and hello to the holidays with the annual release of this seasonal favorite—a copper, full-bodied American-style Imperial IPA—at Iron Hill Media. The party kicks off at 5 p.m. with the release of a special batch of cask-conditioned Holiday Ale. Once the cask is kicked, the draft version will be on tap throughout the season. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: complimentary holiday cookies.
Return to Iron Hill Phoenixville on Saturday, December 6, from 5–8 p.m. for a “fire”-inspired menu and the release of Winter Warmer, our medium-bodied dark ale finished with classic winter spices. It’s all to celebrate the 11th annual Firebird Festival, a fabulous collaboration of local artistic and creative talent that celebrates the mythology of the Phoenix. King of the Hill Rewards Club Exclusive: toasted marshmallow cupcake with the purchase of Winter Warmer.
