“Bacon is my favorite vegetable.” – Dave Foster
Chef Dave started washing dishes at 13 years old at an independent hotel in New Hampshire. After 8 years, he enrolled in The Culinary Institute of America in New York and graduated in 1993. He continued working at the hotel and soon became their Executive Chef.
Dave went on to head the kitchens of several restaurants up and down the east coast, like Legal Seafoods and Cheesecake Factory, before joining Iron Hill in 2009.
Dave worked in various locations before finding a long-time home at our Riverfront location in Wilmington, DE, where he held the leading role in the kitchen for 6 years. In late 2018, Dave relocated to our Ardmore location to lead a new team of Iron Hill chefs.
As an Executive Chef, Dave also assists chefs in other locations, citing that his favorite part of the job is working with them to help them grow in their career with Iron Hill. Dave resides in Wallingford, PA with his wife and 2 young sons. While simplistic, he loves to cook breakfast: eggs, potatoes, bacon…, because, after all, it is his favorite vegetable.
