Charity & Foundations

At Iron Hill we strive to create a feeling of warmth and care for each guest, which extends beyond the walls of our restaurants into the community. Each Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant participates locally in civic and community service, such as sponsoring Muscular Dystrophy Lock-Ups, hosting an annual brewery festival to benefit the Media Youth Center, participating in events to benefit a local chapter of Habitat for Humanity and brewing signature beer with the Eagles’ Jon Runyan, with the proceeds going to Cystic Fibrosis.

Double Chocolate Hill Charitable Donations

The Double Chocolate Hill is an impressive confection of moist chocolate cake with a warm peanut butter center, covered in a creamy chocolate ganache and accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

.75 of each Chocolate Hill sold is donated to the Curesearch National Childhood Cancer foundation (NCCF); and another .75 is donated to The Andrew McDonough B Positive Foundation, specifically chosen by the staff at Iron Hill Wilmington.

CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation proudly supports the work of CureSearch Children’s Oncology Group (COG), a network of more than 5,000 physicians, nurses and scientists who conduct clinical trials and perform cutting-edge research to cure childhood cancer at more than 200 member institutions. CureSearch is dedicated to reaching the day when every child with cancer can be guaranteed a cure. www.curesearch.org

The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation honors the memory of Andrew McDonough, a 14 year old athlete and ‘A’ student at Salesianum HS from Wilmington, Delaware. Andrew went from playing four soccer games on January 27, 2007 to cardiac arrest and a diagnosis of leukemia and sepsis just 48 hours later. Andrew’s blood type and the family’s motto was, and continues to be, “B+” …“Be Positive”. Andrew’s valiant journey was chronicled by local and national media and his website received over 1,000,000 hits in the first six months. Andrew went to Heaven on July 14, 2007. http://bepositive.org
